On Labour Day (1 May), it will be exactly 45 years since Wim van Luyken founded our agency in Bloemendaal. We’re proud that Van Luyken has maintained its independence as a leading communications agency in the Netherlands.
The fact that we serve so many wonderful companies and organisations makes this anniversary extra special.
Our story began in 1978. From the start, Wim van Luyken succeeded in attracting major brands and leading the field in terms of professionalisation. In his role as chairman of the Dutch Association for Public Relations and Information, he was involved in establishing the subsequent professional organisation for communication professionals (now: Logeion, formerly: BvC).
With our Always Open brand, we will still be operating in 2023 in the spirit of our founder. We approach all communications issues with an open mind. With this attitude, we look beyond the horizon. We come up with ideas that make people happy. And we come up with solutions to thorny issues.
In this anniversary year, we are building Van Luyken on four pillars: advice, crisis, training and secondment.
- Advice focuses on positioning issues, communications strategy and media campaigns.
- Crisis support, enables clients to prepare adequately for emergencies by refining their crisis communication plan and protocols, and by providing customised crisis communication training. If a crisis affects a client, we provide communications advice and support them in their spokesperson role with the aim of limiting potential reputational damage as far as possible.
- Under the De Trainingsstudio brand name, experienced professionals provide training and coaching in media relations and presentation.
- For the fourth pillar, the secondment of communication professionals, an extensive and varied network is available to support projects or to temporarily strengthen or manage communications teams.
Supported by this new structure, we head off to half a century for Van Luyken with a strong team of committed, critical and curious consultants.
